Jason Poston is a contract attorney
with the firm, where his practice includes business
transactions and civil litigation matters.
Mr. Poston has represented both individuals
and entities in matters ranging from corporate formation,
financing, mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations,
to literary, production and talent agreements, to disputes
involving contracts, copyrights and trademarks. Recently,
Mr. Poston appeared before the Ninth Circuit, where
he helped obtain a favorable decision in The Grateful
Palate, Inc., et al. v. Joshua Tree Imports, LLC,
220 Fed. Appx. 635 (9th Cir. 2007).
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Poston
was a book editor in New York City. In 1995-1996, he
served as Acting Publisher of the Donald I. Fine Books
imprint at Penguin USA, where he published works by
bestselling authors Bruce Jay Friedman, William Peter
Blatty, Joseph Heller, Rona Jaffe, John T. Lescroart
and Philip Friedman, among others.
He received his Bachelor of Arts
degree from Wesleyan University in 1990, and his Juris
Doctor degree from the University of Southern California
Law School in 1999.
