Julie Ephraim is a partner in the firm's litigation
department. She specializes in entertainment litigation,
including copyright, trademark, and other intellectual
property disputes, First Amendment rights, defamation,
and rights of publicity, and also has extensive experience
in complex profit participation accounting, contract,
and business tort disputes involving companies and individuals
in the entertainment industry.
Ms. Ephraim represents major motion picture studios,
television networks, publishers, production companies,
actors, writers, and directors in trials and appeals
in the state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations
and mediations. She also represented DC Comics, an affiliate
of Warner Bros., in a case brought by Johnny and Edgar
Winter, which resulted in a leading California Supreme
Court opinion regarding First Amendment rights and the
right of publicity.
Ms. Ephraim obtained her B.A. in history from Brown
University in 1989, and graduated Order of the Coif
from the University of Southern California Law Center
in 1992. She is a member of the State Bar of California,
and the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Bar Associations.
