Tom Mattei is an associate in
Weissmann Wolff's Corporate and Real Estate Department.
During his career, Mr. Mattei has practiced corporate
and securities law, with a focus on corporate finance
and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Mattei has represented
a variety of issuers and underwriters, including Goldman,
Sachs & Co., Deutsche Banc, UBS, Bank of America
and Credit Suisse First Boston in public and private
issuances of debt and equity securities. Mr. Mattei's
experience in mergers and acquisitions has included
the representation of both public and private entities
in domestic and cross-border transactions, including
representation on behalf of private equity funds as
well as their portfolio companies. In addition, Mr.
Mattei has represented start-up companies in the acquisition
of debt and equity financing.
Prior to joining Weissmann, Wolff, Mr. Mattei worked
as an associate in the Corporate Department at Latham
& Watkins LLP in its Los Angeles office. Prior to
that time Mr. Mattei worked as a management consultant
and worked in a number of positions in politics and
government, including two and a half years working in
the United States Senate.
Mr. Mattei received his A.B. from Duke University, (studied
law at American University Washington College of Law,
where he was a member of the American University Law
review) and received his J.D. from the University of
Virginia School of Law, where he was an editor of the
University of Virginia Law Review.
